This presentation describes the results of my efforts to build strategic partnerships with gender scholars in Bogazici and Istanbul Universities between June 11-23, 2010. During this trip I met with several scholars at each university, attended lectures, spoke with students, and read English language publications from prominent feminists in Turkey, particularly those doing work on violence against women. I will describe how I would recommend the Center for Gender in Global Context should proceed in building strategic partnerships with gender scholars at Bogazici and Istanbul Universities. I will also describe some of the research being conducted by feminist scholars at Bogazici and Istanbul Universities, and where possible collaboration opportunities might lie.
